Our Locomotives
Whatever your requirements, we can more than deliver. We have a range of locomotives with an impressive track record – or if you require something to meet your individual specifications we can supply you with custom-built locomotives.

Industrial Battery Locomotives 1.75 to 30 tonnes
In February 2006, four small battery locomotives named Walter, Lou, Anne and Kitty were supplied to Metronet to be run on The London Underground’s Waterloo and City lines. They are used for hauling materials and equipment and were specially designed and built for work in narrow tunnels with tight curves and steep gradients.

Trolley Locomotives 3 to 30 tonnes
Clayton Equipment Ltd makes a range of trolley locomotives from 3 tonnes through to 30 tonnes.

Diesel Locomotives 5 to 30 tonnes
Clayton Equipment Ltd makes a range of diesel locomotives from 5 tonnes through to 30 tonnes.

Flameproof battery Locomotives 3.5 to 22 tonnes
Clayton Equipment Ltd makes a range of flameproof locomotives from 3.5 tonnes through to 22 tonnes.

The vast majority of our spare parts are manufactured in-house – giving our customers the reassurance of superior quality spares backed by a high-speed order and despatch system.

Locomotive Refurbishing
Our service is shaped by our clients - they tell us what they need and we strive to deliver cutting edge solutions to meet most demands and all budgets.

We can refurbish your existing locomotives, both Clayton and none Clayton machines; we can modernise older equipment to improve reliability; we can make bespoke changes to equipment to suit your ever-changing needs or bring old equipment back into service.

Training
The reputation of Clayton Equipment Ltd is second to none; to make sure that we don ’t simply maintain this reputation, but that we have the ability to consistently build on it, we invest more time, more money and more skill in training than most other companies.
